Testimonials
The dynamic duo of David Aronson and Sylvia Greenberg gave a powerhouse master class to vocal performance majors in the Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music at Chapman University. Ms. Greenberg, a coloratura soprano of great renown throughout Europe and America and Mr. Aronson, a conductor and pianist who has been a member of the Vienna State Opera music staff for more than 20 years, inspired the young singers with insights and advice on interpretation, presentation, performance traditions, audition techniques and much, much more. We can’t wait to welcome them back to Chapman for their next visit!

My time working with David and Sylvia was incredibly formative in taking my skills to a higher professional level. They are kind, enthusiastic, and generous with their support and expertise. I worked with them intensively over the period of a week in Vienna, and during this time felt that my musicality and vocal technique developed to a point where I felt markedly more confident approaching high-profile auditions.
Their knowledge and experience base is extensive, and they are so willing share of this wisdom. Both David and Sylvia challenged me as a singer, both technically and musically, by encouraging me to really concentrate on the ways I could improve every aspect of my work. They both have an infectious energy, and I absolutely loved attending my individual sessions with them.
I also had the privilege of working with them in masterclasses in Melbourne, Australia; as well as being incredible coaches on an individual basis they work so brilliantly as a team. David and Sylvia make you excited to make music. When I worked with them, I felt as though I was really creating something wonderful. It was such a joyful, challenging, and positive growth experience. I thoroughly enjoyed every experience I had working with David and Sylvia, and I hope to work with them again in the near future.

David Aronson and Sylvia Greenberg have given several master classes for our students over the years, and they are always among the very best guest master classes we have ever had. Their insights into both the music and vocal technique are always clear, on-target and incredibly helpful to our singers. I have noticed that many of the wonderful ideas David and Sylvia give our students have made permanent improvements in their singing. They support all of the technical and musical ideas we teach our singers, never conflicting or confusing them, but rather enhancing what the singers are already doing well. They create a warm, welcoming environment in the master classes, where the students feel safe and motivated to listen, learn and improve.

David Aronson and Sylvia Greenberg give a master class that is focused, energetic, informative, fun and very, very productive. Aspiring classical musicians, and their teachers, consider master classes to be one of the most effective means of musical development and classes with David and Sylvia are definitely the best. From the smallest of details to the over-arching concepts, the information given is performance and life-changing. I cannot wait to have David and Sylvia back for more classes.

It was an incredible experience to work with both David Aronson and Sylvia Greenberg. These are two people who have had enormous careers in the European operatic world; to receive hands-on advice and constructive criticism from two professionals of that stature is an experience I will never forget. [They also had a lot of] fantastic advice at the end of the master class on how to get your foot in the doorway of the European music scene. I would love to have both of them come back and do an extended week of masterclasses for the voice department. I think even the most advanced singer would learn something of extreme value.

It was a unique opportunity to work with a world-renowned singer and an extremely accomplished conductor at the same time. They were such a great team, and I felt as though we all got the best of both worlds, musical and technical.

Both Mr. Aronson and Mrs. Greenberg were very professional and helpful during the master class. They showcased their incredible knowledge of the repertoire and of the voice itself. Mr. Aronson was especially helpful with me in all the artistic, musical and linguistic aspects of the music. He made realize all the little tidbits that I had missed when working on it by myself.
